An In-Depth Look at Each of CMMC’s 17 Domains
The DoD has done a fantastic job thus far in rolling out the new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework for the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). They have had open communications with industry allowing for useful feedback and have, for the most part, stayed on target with their planned timeline.
While this new framework and its heightened requirements could have an adverse impact on small businesses within the DIB, we are hopeful that we might be able to help lessen the complexity and cost associated with compliance. Blue Mantle Technology is uniquely positioned in the DoD Contractor marketplace. We are a DIB contractor ourselves and we also provide B2B services to other DIB contractors. We specialize in DoD compliance, including NIST 800-171 – the backbone of the CMMC framework.
Over the next few months, we will be examining each of the seventeen CMMC “domains” (think control families) – one per week. We will use our expertise and experience with federal cybersecurity compliance and operations, specifically within the NIST framework, to provide guidance, clarification, recommendations, insider tips and strategic advice on how to most efficiently and effectively comply with CMMC’s prescribed requirements. If you subscribe to our blog, you will receive email updates as each domain’s post is published. Please add your email address in the box at the bottom (or to the right) of this screen.
